My wife and I were planning a well-needed vacation in the Caribbean and needed a place near Dallas to board our five-year-old Lab, a very gentle and playful dog. We live about three hours north of the DFW airport in South Central Oklahoma and hoped we would have better luck finding the right Frisco dog boarding place somewhere along the drive to the airport.
And boy, did we ever – the Lone Star Dog Ranch in Anna, Texas, which is just northeast of Dallas. We took Colonel Jack down for a visit to the ranch before our trip to check their facilities and to make sure he would be comfortable there, and we were pleasantly surprised.
Lone Star is not your typical Dallas Doggie Daycare or dog boarding operation. With 31 acres of space, including walking trails and ponds, it truly is a ranch. We loved the idea that the dogs are allowed freedom to move around during the day and not kept in wired dog pens with concrete pads. The dogs boarded at Lone Star have access to a 3,000 square foot, air conditioned and heated recreation room, get regular exercise and play time with lots of human interaction.
When we got back to Dallas from the islands, The Colonel was happy to see us and seemed almost sad to leave his new doggie friends he had been boarded with for the week. So, if you are anywhere near Dallas and are looking for a great dog boarding facility for any length of time, or even looking for a day care place for you doggie, we highly recommend Lone Star. Colonel Jack gives it five woofs, his highest rating.
